We had a fantastic ride until temps dropped quickly and unexpectedly on the Blue Ridge yesterday. Forecast at 6am for Wintergreen said 44 would be the low of the day with rain later in the afternoon but that dropped unexpectedly. My Garmin edge data shows the last hour was 32 degrees average (with pouring rain and sleet). We were descending fast for a long stretch worsening our condition with the wind. Thankfully, all of us were safe, brave and smart as things worsened and our collective mental clarity clouded with initial hypothermia. We met kind strangers who helped us out when we realized our predicament was very risky. The rain, wind, cold and women mountain climb adventure. Luckily, we were able to laugh later.
